Apple Picking in Texas is a great way to explore the apple orchards in Texas and taste some delicious local produce!

Some of the orchards below allow you to pick your own apples, and they all sell their apples on site. Some sell other tasty fruits and veggies too!

Pick up some apples to bake yourself some apple pie or strudel, or pick up some hand-crafted apple treats from the bakeries on site. They make a great a great local Texas souvenir.

Apples tend to be ready for harvest in July or August in Texas. We always recommend checking the Texas apple farm orchards for updates before heading to pick apples, as the crops can and do vary significantly based on temperatures.

The weather has been tough on Texas apple orchards these past few years – freezes, record hot summers, and droughts – oh my! Many apple farms that typically offer U-pick apples and other crops haven’t built their supply back up enough yet to invite visitors into the orchards. We will continue to update this page as 2023 updates are released.

Sonlight Apple Orchard has been offering pick your own apples for almost 25 years. They pride themselves on offering some of the most delicious apples in Texas! Their natural sugar content in the apples are 41% higher than what you will find at your local grocery store!

Please note, this farm does not have restrooms, but you can stop by the public restrooms at the courthouse just a few minutes away.

Checkout their cottage if you’d like to stay overnight in the orchards. Their adorable Apple Cottage B&B is available for rent and includes adorable lodging as well as a continental breakfast.

The town of Mason is dripping with history and charming, old barns. Take the time to walk around and soak up some small-town vibes. When you head home, try your hand at some of their favorite recipes with your freshly picked apples!

Love Creek Orchards + The Apple Store

Love Creek Orchards is a quintessential apple orchard that has been inviting visitors to its enjoy its apple trees for years. Blackberries and figs are also popular U-pick crops at this farm.

Tours of The Apple Store and Love Creek Orchard are offered April – October. You’ll find that the apples are ready for harvesting in July and August.

Their Apple Store Bakery & Café are a must-stop when nearby as their homemade menu items are mouthwateringly delicious. They make over 50 different items from their apples – so, please don’t leave town without trying their apple pie!

Efurd Orchard welcomes visitors with open arms and delicious varieties of produce. They grow several other crops along with their apples, including their famous peaches, berries, pumpkins and plums.

Pop into their country store to pick up a load of fresh, Texas local produce, but just be sure not to leave before you try some blueberry or peach ice cream too!
