If you’re on the hunt for indoor water parks in Dallas, you’re in the right place! I think water parks might be my sons’ favorite thing to do year round, so we are always on the hunt for a new water park to visit. They’ve even asked for water park passes for their birthday this year – I think it’s a great idea!
We love some good fun in the sun, but sometime the sun is TOO hot and sometimes it is actually too cold (looking at you February), which makes indoor water parks near Dallas our favorite way to get out some energy.
Anyone else’s children get way too excited about not having to wear sunscreen?!
One exciting option is Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark in Grand Prairie. Packed with thrilling slides, a lazy river, and even an amazing wave pool, it’s a water wonderland. Another fantastic spot is Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, where not only can you enjoy the water slides, but there’s also a whole resort filled with activities.
These indoor water parks offer a perfect escape, rain or shine, so check out our best list below!
Best Water Parks in Dallas (Indoor)
When we want some outdoor water fun, we head to the best beaches near Dallas, but when we want to splash around inside, these indoor Dallas water parks are the best options in town!
Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark
- 2970 Epic Place, Grand Prairie, TX 75052
- Admission: Starting at $49/under 48″ and $54/over 48″
When you ask a local for the best indoor water park in Dallas, you are likely to hear a recommendation for Epic! This water park stands by its name and offers an amazing way to have fun in the water when the temperatures outside are just not swim-friendly.
At Epic Waters, there are six thrilling slides – one of which is brand new and about to open – with a 40 foot drop! You’ll also love the lazy river, wave pool, swimming pool, and surfing simulation. The E-Racers allow you to race your friends, while the Prairie Plunge is as fast as they get! There is also an arcade when you need a break from the water.
Check out their website for deals when booking online. There are resident discounts as well annual passes and other great ways to save some cash. We love the deal often offered on Thursdays for $99 for a carload of 6 people – such a steal!
Great Wolf Lodge Water Park
- 100 Great Wolf Dr, Grapevine, TX 76051
- Admission: $75/person OR book a room overnight
See that daily price up there? Please don’t pay it! I HIGHLY recommend booking a room overnight at Great Wolf Lodge because each room comes with SIX waterpark passes.
Great Wolf Lodge has a fantastic indoor water park that is fun for the whole family. There is an area for little ones, a wave pool, lazy river, water playground (you know – with the giant dumping bucket), four medium thrill slides, and a CRAZY fast high thrill Howlin’ Tornado. My husband and I rode this with our ten year olds and they were very amused by my freaked out face – it is quite the ride, so hold on tight!
The resort offers many other activities outside of the park mostly geared toward little ones. You can meet characters, listen to story time, do crafts, and have a pajama dance party. Even if your kiddos have outgrown these as mine have, the price tag is well worth the overnight stay, fun water park, and free wolf ears (if you howl in the gift shop!).
A ropes course, MagiQuest interactive digital game, mining activity and arcade are all available for an additional fee and appeal to big kids too.
You can use the water park for a half day each on your arrival and departure days, so a one or two night stay is plenty. Sign up for their newsletter to watch for sales or even check Groupon. Our family of 5 stayed earlier this year for less than $200 with all taxes and fees included.
The Cove at the Lakefront
- 417 Lakefront Dr, Little Elm, TX 75068
- Admission: $14/youth and $18/adult (weekdays are discounted)
The Cove offers a retractable roof meaning that this water park is perfect in all weather! Plan to relax on the lazy river, try your hand at surfing on the Flow Rider or go for a swim in the pool. The play structure leads to hours of play, while thrill seekers will love the water slides. There are three easy slides and three fast ones, along with a couple more for the littlest splashers.
Monthly memberships are available so definitely check those out if you plan to visit often. You can also bring in your own cooler for a $10 fee which we think is totally worth it! There is a Snack Shack though, so no worries if you’d rather not pack a lunch.
Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center
- 110 Rivercrest Blvd, Allen, TX 75002
- Admission: $7/youth and $11/adults (monthly membership available)
While the Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center is simpler than some of other other indoor waterparks near Dallas on our list, the price is too! For a budget friendly day out of the heat or the chill, head here for easy and affordable fun.
This center has two swimming pools, one water slide, a lazy river, and an indoor playground. Perfect for getting out some energy for a few hours, we are huge fans!
While the center does offer monthly memberships, day passes are available too, which we love. If you happen to be a resident of Allen, then your admission will be even lower than the price listed above – woohoo!
- 3003 Alma Rd, McKinney, TX 75070
- Admission: $15 youth + $20 adults (see restrictions below)
Apex Centre is both an indoor and an outdoor water park – so I figured it should still be on this list!
Indoors, you will find a swimming pool, one water slide, a river channel to flat around in, and a small play structure.
However, outdoors you will find four more water slides and another pool with a river channel, play structure, and basketball hoop. Cabana rentals are also offered outdoors. The outdoor pool is only open seasonally.
Apex Centre offers monthly memberships as well as day passes. If you are not a resident of McKinney, you can only purchase a Day Pass if you are accompanied by a member or by a city resident.
The Rec Aquatic Center
- 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, TX 76051
- Admission: Monthly Membership starting at $38/month
The REC Aquatic Center is a great indoor waterpark for those looking for a smaller space to keep track of their kiddos. This water park is only open to members of the The Rec of Grapevine. You’ll find 4 lap swim lanes here along with two basketball goals, two tower slides, a channel current, a hot tub, and a dry sauna. There is also a sweet play structure for littles.
** Please note, as of January 2024, the water park is temporarily closed for construction.
Which Indoor Water Park in Dallas will you visit next?
